Advanced Ceramics developed and manufactures microporous insulation.

We developed solutions for both one-time use (i.e. data recorders) and for thermally cyclical applications. We have out performed our competition in numerous tests and strive to ever-improve our mixes through extensive R&D.

All Products

  • DO NOT contain RCF’s (refractory ceramic fibres).

  • DO NOT contain resins.

  • DO NOT  contain explosive dusts or components .

  • DO NOT contain any components that have health/safety issues.

Up to 97% of our material is already in food that you eat. All insulation and coatings are REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) and RoHS-3 compliant. We are also registered with the Controlled Goods Directorate (a certification to work with intellectually sensitive material, to learn more, click here).

AC80: microporous insulation used for thermal batteries and detection systems due to high purity, zero off-gassing and the ability to cycle from -273ºC to 1000ºC indefinitely. The material has a coefficient of thermal expansion in the magnitude of 10-7 (inconsequential change in dimension with temperature variation). 1” of AC80 provides similar thermal protection as 18”-24” of brick.

AC260 and AC350: microporous insulation used for data recorders provides phenomenal thermal protection for it’s one-time use intent. During fire tests, we have seen temperatures below 200ºC as a core temperature after an ED-112 high temperature test (multiple 1100ºC torches blasting a test data recorder for one hour).

ACCenviro: a coating uniquely created for Advanced Ceramics. This coating is used to seal the insulation and prevent nuisance dust from forming.
